I have used this protein drink to help me add weight whilst working out, it tastes sweet but the sugar is from natural sources so it wont give you sugar spikes. It is also is very cost effective. Orange & Grapefruit LIP BALM

When we first became Vegan there were not many choices available, combined with the high costs of what was available got me to thinking, surely we can make these things ourselves, after all how complex is it, so I researched and tested different ingredients until I was happy with the results, what I discovered is that the cost to make a product that we buy in the shop, costs a fraction of what it sells for. I estimated that some companies must be marking up products from anywhere between 150-300%. Also to make many products we buy is quite simple you just need to understand how, so over the next few months i am going to be sharing with you some of the recipes I have produced for myself, my family & friends. Whats more if you have got a little money you can start to produce your own body care and sell for a small profit. So the first of these videos is how to make your own Vegan Lipbalm, you only need a few ingredients which you can purchase from Amazon, i will include links below to were i get mine from, the companies I buy from do not test on animals, that was the one thing it took me a little research and a few conversations to check but i imagine you will have more choices now.

This is to make 1 lip balm for a 15ml tin
Jojoba Oil – 5 drops
Grapeseed Oil – 5 ml
Patchouli Oil – 2 drops

Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

You know there is nothing better than the smell of freshly cooked food in the home, i always look to see how quickly what i cook disappears off the side to see good it tastes, so when i turn my back for 2 seconds and half the finished product is gone, then ask the family what happened and they all say they dont know with a suspicious face and a mouth still full then i think that is the greatest compliment of all, so when cooking these i hope your family loves them as much as mine.

vegan gluten free chocolate chip WAFFLES

The biggest hurdle we have faced as vegans is not only are we against any form of food that has caused harm to another animal, but the fact that our son has a issue with gluten it causes his eczema to flare up quite bad, however we still as with anyone else want the odd treat from time to time. I wont explain how many times i had to change the recipe on this, i felt a bit like alexander bell inventing the light bulb.

The key i found was to change the flour for one as the gluten in flour is what makes it rise, which is what we are trying to avoid here, when i figured that part out the rest was easy.

You have to try these we all love them, the ingredients are below and they dont take that long to make, the hardest part is waiting for them to cook, also fighting our son jack off as he try’s to claim them all as his and then hides them like some sort of hidden treasure.

Let me know how you get on with them, also what other recipes would you like me to do?

  • 1.5 cups of gluten free self raising flour
  • .5 teaspoon of salt
  • .5 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1.5 cups of non dairy milk
  • 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
  • .5 cup of melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • .5 cup of caster sugar

No bake, millionaire bites

Ok so we have been buying the mini bites from Tescos, the problem is they come in small plastic packaging so that is not good, it always amazes me that companies that are meant to be healthy they spend all this time making a great product just to fall at the last hurdle, so I spent a few days trying to replicate the recipe if not make it better and found these came as close as I could to them. Now to the great thing is they don’t cost that much to make and no plastic packaging. Which means one less thing we have to buy in plastic.

DIY – Make your own Cashew Milk

Plant based milks are so easy to make and the great thing is you can tweak the recipe based on your own preference. When looking at making my own i tried various methods to sweeten the recipe, and found that artificial sweeteners and syrups even the natural ones did not taste right, however the dates worked really well & the fact that it comes from a plant and not processed even better.

For the recipe you will need Cashew nuts, Dates and Water it is that simple, you will also need a blender and some sort of bag to squeeze the liquid through, the ratio is for every cup of cashews you want 2 dates and 2 cups of water. Links are below what i use, the blender is fantastic its great for smoothies and i use it for making breakfast bars for the kids and gluten free treats as well. DIY MINERALISING Whitening Toothpaste

The problem with many toothpastes I find is that they contain chemicals such as SLS which can cause various health issues such as Cancer, to help improve teeth health you need to remineralise your teeth, this can be done by using ingredients such as calcium & Phosphate however our body already produces enough phosphate so as long as you ave a reasonable amount of vitamin D the calcium should be enough.

To make this Mineralising Whitening Toothpaste you will nee the following:
Calcium – 1 tablespoon
Charcoal – 1 tablespoon
Vegetable Glycerine – 1.5 teaspoons
Peppermint Oil – .5 teaspoon (add more if you want it really minty)
